Nali May

Nali the Lion! Poor thing puts up with a lot!

Nali loves to snuggle and sleep. She loves being dried with a hair dryer
after her baths. Then her fur is super fluffy!
Here is my adorable puppy who I love to death! My family adopted Denali May on July 4, 2011. We were at a park watching a 4th of July parade where we saw a lady trying to sell some puppies. I couldn't resist looking at them even though I knew my mom would never agree to buy one. That's when I met this sweet little fur ball. She had long, shaggy fur that had been pet by a million little greasy kid's hands, so when I first saw her honestly I thought she was sorta ugly. That soon changed after we kids and our family friends talked my mom into buying her. A decision that our family has never regretted (even during her potty training).
Denali is often called Nali, Nals, or Sugar Plum Princess (but only by my little brother Jimmy). Her breed is a mix between a Yorkshire terrier and poodle or a Yorki-poo . She is so smart, and we have been able to teach her lots of tricks. My family jokes that we have a circus dog, which made turning her into a lion even more hilarious (see picture to left). Nali can sit, lay down, shake, dance, roll over, play dead, and even balance a treat on her nose until we give her the signal to eat it. Usually she mixes them up so she just does them all in fast sequence hoping she did one of them right and will earn her treat.
She does have a nasty habit of getting into the bathroom trash and making huge messes while we are away. We make her clean them up though (with a little help from us). She is super paranoid about us eating her food. We've tried to explain to her that we don't eat dog food, but she still growls at us when we are by her food. The little turd! I blame my brothers because they tease her relentlessly. She also freaks out whenever someone new comes over. Give her time to warm up to you, and she'll love you to pieces! She totally brightens up my bad days and makes my good days so much greater. I love her so much!

My Family

To start off my new blog I'd like to introduce everyone to my whole world; my family. I am incredibly blessed to be the daughter of the most wonderful parents who have done an excellent job of teaching and loving their six children. I am also blessed with an amazing older sister Camrie who is currently serving an LDS mission and will return in July, 2014. Camrie is serving in the Honolulu, Hawaii mission and she has been so successful. She is loving it! I come next in line and then comes Avie or Avalon. She is a Junior in High School and loves boys, theater, singing, and did I mention boys? She is my best friend and I have no idea what I would do with out her. Next in the line up is my stud-muffin of a brother, Talon. He is in 9th grade and is so incredibly smart with technology and putting things together! His latest accomplishment was building his own remote controlled Tri-Copter (a helicopter but with 3 blades). My other very handsome brother is Jimmy who is currently in 7th grade. He is also smart in the computer field and enjoys making his own youtube videos and playing Minecraft. Last, but not least comes my baby sister Jetta. She is enjoying her final years in elementary as a 5th grader. She also loves to play card games and monopoly. She has a cute little hamster and has done an amazing job of training it and caring for it. Speaking of pets, I have another family member that I'll have to post a picture of. My darling Yorki-poo (Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle mix) named Nali. She's a little turd, but I love her to death. That pretty much sums up my awesome family and I am incredibly grateful for each and every one of them! I love them so much and they have made me the person I am today.
